1. Cold Spring Brewery

Located between Seashore Road and Route 9 in Cape May, Cold Spring Brewery is New Jersey’s first non-profit microbrewery.

The brewery helps fund the Historic Cold Spring Village (HSCV) living history museum, with all of its profits going to the museum.

Cold Spring consists of a brewery and barn where guests can enjoy porters, stouts, ales, and many other drink options. 

It also offers live music and temperature-controlled indoor seating that’s available year-round.

2. Gusto Brewing Company

As New Jersey’s southernmost brewery and taproom, Gusto Brewing Company offers a “funky little spot” unlike any other in Cape May.

Gusto is located on Bayshore Road in the North Cape May Shopping Center. It serves up draft delights like the Little Spoon oatmeal spout and Vacation From Ourselves lime lager. Along with these, Gusto sells 25.4-oz. cans and four-packs for same- or next-day pickup.

The brewery hosts trivia and other events at different times during the year. It also invites families to enjoy the Gusto experience together, offering house games and other activities for well-behaved kids.

3. Cape May Brewing Co.

Just a short drive from Cape May proper, the Cape May Brewing Co. has helped put New Jersey on the map for craft beer.

The brewery is located on Hornet Road in Rio Grande at the Cape May Airport complex. It launched on July 4, 2011, and since that time, has grown its operations from a 12-gallon system to a 30-barrel brewhouse.

Cape May Brewing offers one of the largest and most accessible tasting rooms in the Garden State. The tasting room is open every day and offers beers, seltzers, and more.

In addition to its tasting room, Cape May Brewing provides a Brewtanical Garden during summer.

It also offers self-guided tours and allows guests to enjoy their drinks to-go in its Brewtique, which sells t-shirts and other merchandise.

4. Behr Brewing

For a “behr” of an adventure in Cape May, make the trek to Behr Brewing, which is located across the street from Church’s Garden Center & Farms and along Seashore Road.

Behr offers a variety of drinks on tap. The current list includes Behr Claw: Grapefruit hard seltzer, Behr Pong American light lager, and many other options. This list is subject to change, and Behr updates its drinks on tap periodically.

There’s plenty going on at Behr throughout the year. The brewery has hosted movie marathons, yoga classes, and other events in the past. It also offers sports on TV and board games all day long.
